Laura Owens

Laura joined Streathers in January 2018, becoming a partner in 2021.

Laura advises on a broad range of residential property transactions, with a particular focus on the prime central London market, acting on behalf of first time buyers, high net-worth individuals, investors and developers.  She deals with all aspects of residential conveyancing including freehold and leasehold acquisitions and disposals, development site acquisitions and financing, and also acting on behalf of developers in the preparation of tailored leases and bespoke sales packs to ultimately facilitate and attend to individual development plot sales.

Prior to qualifying as a Solicitor in 2012, Laura undertook her training contract in the home counties which enabled her to develop her expertise of unregistered titles and has a keen knowledge in dealing with title and lease rectifications and registrations.

Recent experience:

• Advising on the purchase of a development site in Dalston, subject to a contract race, and exchanging on the deal within 48 hours of receipt of papers
• Dealing with development site financing, granting plot leases, and attending to plot disposals
• Advising on the purchase of a Leasehold property in Chelsea negotiating complex conditional contract terms associated with the grant of probate, access, works and relevant leasehold licence requirements
